Qwo-Li Driskill: Dragonfly Rising

Dragonfly Rising Press is a DIY, independent, small press committed to radical perspectives, politics, and stories marginalized across political spectrums.

Dragonfly Rising Press began as a vehicle to publish my chapbooks in order to sustain my work as a poet and activist. While the press began as a solo project, I am currently working to expand the press to include the publication of the Organizers' Pamphlet Series, anthologies, and other single-author chapbooks and collections.

The press has published three chapbooks: Burning Upward Flight and Book of Memory: Honor Poems include much of the work now published in Walking with Ghosts.

Burning Upward Flight was created as a limited-run chapbook and is currently not in print.

I am excited to announce my newest chapbook, The Borders of Empire: Seven Poems and a Play, which includes my short play Bird Names In Lenape, as well new poetry.

Dragonfly Rising Press has also produced a CD, In Our Oldest Language, co-produced in 2005 by Dragonfly Rising Press and being MEdia.

In the tradition of Kitchen Table Press' Freedom Organizing Series, the Organizers' Pamphlet Series addresses issues of social justice too often marginalized by radical movements in order to provoke our thinking and deepen our work.
